Mother's Day activity ideas

Rather than a box of supermarket chocs or flowers that will wilt before the week is through - this year we wanted to inspire you with some Mother’s Day activity ideas - thoughtful experiences, fun crafty activities or tokens that won’t break the bank but will show your love and appreciation for the ‘mum’ in your life. It might be your own mum, step-mum, godmother… or a mum friend who could do with hearing ‘you’re doing a mighty good job’. Mums come in all manner of guises - here’s to celebrating yours this March…

Compliments jar
Send a text to all her friends and family asking them ‘What do you love most about her?’ - collate all their answers and write them on slips of paper. Add them to a jam jar to present to her on Mother’s Day so she can read through the ‘love notes’ one by one.

Do you know what 90% of mums secretly want? Time - time to read a whole chapter of their book uninterrupted, finish a cup of tea in peace or slope off for an afternoon nap. Whether it’s offering to babysit their kids or give them an empty house for the afternoon - a few cherished hours for them to indulge in some ‘me-time’ is a thoughtful gift any mum would love. Why not make them a hand-made ‘gift certificate’ that they can redeem after a particularly stressful week?

A home-cooked meal
If your mum is the designated ‘chef’ of the house - chances are she’d relish the night off duty and to be wined and dined by her loved ones. Get the whole family involved, let the kids decorate the table and draw up a ‘menu’ and serve up her favourites. A chance to connect in a relaxed, fun way as a family.

A creative collage
Why not put together a ‘mum moodboard’ - kid’s drawings, photos, memorabilia from trips you’ve taken together, your favourite quotes… creating a visual reminder of why you think she’s the bee’s knees is a powerful way of celebrating any mum or woman in your life.

Green fingered fun
If you’ve got a mum who loves her garden or all things botanical - why not plan an afternoon in the garden? March is a great time of year to get the garden into shape - plant her favourite summer bulbs and shrubs and watch them bloom together all summer.

Get out in nature
Does she love the beach? Woodland trails? Pack up a thermos, picnic (and one of our blankets!) and grab a camera to head off on an adventure for the day. The kids can burn off some energy and you can fill up the memory bank with a fun few hours in her favourite place.

Personalised gifting

We have launched a ‘Mum’ tote for Mother’s Day that is designed to be personalised by you, her kids - or to gift as a creative project she can let loose on herself. Made of recycled cotton with our exclusive tattoo inspired design.
