Whether you're off to Cornwall or California - packing up the bathroom cabinet for yourself and your brood can send your stress levels into overdrive and have your luggage straining at the zip! Here are our quick tips to streamline your washbag - for all the family this summer.
Unless you're planning a family jaunt to Outer Mongolia, don't lug unnecessary toiletries with you that you can pick up at your destination. From cotton wool to wipes and nappies. Call ahead and find out the location of your nearest pharmacy/supermarket and just take enough for the first day or so.
Use products they are familiar with
If your kids are settled in a bedtime routine - ensure you take products that they are familiar with on holiday so they feel a sense of 'home' in an unfamiliar setting. Even the youngest babies will associate certain smells with a safe, familiar routine. Our Sleep Tight Pillow Spray (£19, 100ml) is a brilliant travel essential that will make any hotel room feel like home and help with jet-lag frazzled sleep patterns, too.
Look for multi-purpose products
In the past we've been guilty of packing 3 different types of toothpaste for babies, kids and adults. Look for multi-purpose products that are suitable for your whole tribe to cut down on packing space. We love this family-friendly organic SLS-free toothpaste from Green People for example. (£4.25, 50ml).
We also designed the Lala & Bea family organic skincare range to be multi-purpose. Not only to streamline our bathroom cabinets and reduce waste, but as busy mums we know how frustrating it is to pack multiple products to cater for all ages! Our Nourish Balm, for instance (£24, 100ml) is a holiday staple for us - it's rich in rosehip oil and super soothing and nourishing for dry, parched summer skin. We use it on our sandal-bearing feet, our kids eczema prone patches and for even the littlest traveller it's great for nappy rash, too. A pot of this slung in the beach bag or travel luggage is a definite holiday must.
The same could be said for our Baby Massage and Bath Oil (£16, 100ml) - not only reserved for their bedtime routine - we've been known to use it as body oil for ourselves, as well as a deep, overnight hair treatment for our straw-like summer tresses! It's Vitamin and Omega rich formula means it's amazing for nourishing skin, young and old!
