Why Rosehip oil (Rosa canina) is essential!

Take a look at the amazing properties of Rosehip oil to see why we we so keen to use it in our nourish oil and nourish balm....

Rosehip is an amazing oil, packed with lots of natural goodness and has a number of benefits including the prevention and reduction of stretch marks, new scars and old scars (including chickenpox scars); rehydrating the skin; reducing acne scaring, wrinkles, age spots and repairing damaged skin cells. All great reasons we chose to use it in our nourish oil and nourish balm!

Rosehip is rich in Vitamin C, which is not only healing for the skin but is also a key ingredient in anti-aging products helping to boost collagen production and brightening the skin. Rosehip also contains Vitamin E which is very nutritious and also an antioxidant, which prevents the propagation of free radicals in the skin.

Stretch marks: because Rosehip oil is one of the few natural oils safe to use in pregnancy it's ideal to use on a growing belly and beyond pregnancy it's key in minimising the appearance of stretch marks and other scars. It's great at optimising healthy regeneration of skin cells and softening and smoothing scar tissue.

Ageing: the healing and repairing properties of Rosehip oil, coupled with Vitamin C can really benefit dry and mature skin. Using products which contain organic and natural ingredients are great help work against the ageing process the natural way as the continual use of products containing chemicals can in the long run add to the appearance of ageing on the skin. Rosehip oil is rich in linoleic and linolenic acids, which are important skin nutrients. 

Naturally relaxing: using Rosehip oil in massage and bath products helps to moisturise the skin and relax and rejuvenate the body. 

Itching: Rosehip can provide significant relief to itchy and inflamed skin associated with eczema and even ease the tight itchy sensation of over exposure to the sun and sunburn (only use once it stops feeling hot), so it's an ideal way for your skin to heal and repair naturally. It's known to rehydrate the skin, so used within a moisturising product it allows the skin to stay hydrated and have longer exposure to the Rosehip oil, in turn lessening the inflammation and aiding relief from discomfort.
